Anne Tjønneland

Delegate - Danish Cancer Society

I am a Senior Researcher at the Danish Cancer Institute and Principal Investigator of the Danish Diet, Cancer and Health cohort, which includes more than 100,000 participants. I also serve as a PI and Steering Committee member of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC). My expertise focuses on how diet and lifestyle influence the prevention of cancer and other chronic diseases. I contributed to the development of the fifth edition of the European Code Against Cancer (ECAC5) and to the World Cancer Research Fund’s Continuous Update Project (CUP Global) as a member of the Scientific Community of Experts. Within Cancer Prevention Europe (CPE), I am the Danish Cancer Institute’s alternate representative and a member of its Steering Committee. At the Danish Cancer Institute, as part of the Danish Cancer Society, we prioritize disseminating best practices in prevention and translating innovative research into effective cancer prevention guidelines and policies nationally and internationally.
